Firm History

In 2004, Craig Erickson founded Erickson & Associates. Craig had spent the previous 28 years at a law firm in downtown Minneapolis, practicing in the areas of trusts and estate planning, commercial and residential real estate, and business law. Craig formed his new firm as a boutique law firm concentrating in the areas of estate planning and business succession planning.

Cory Wessman joined the firm in 2009, having practiced in the areas of estate planning and estate administration at a large Minneapolis firm. In 2013, Cory became a shareholder, and the name changed to Erickson & Wessman. In July 2021, the law firm moved from its office in Northeast Minneapolis to its current location in Bell Plaza, located in Bloomington at France Avenue and Highway 494.

In 2022, the name of the firm was changed to Veritage Law Group. Veritage is a combination of two words — “Veritas,” a Greek word that means “truth,” and “Heritage.” This new name conveys our firm’s mission, which is to assist clients and their families implement an estate plan consistent with their uniquely personal true heritage.

Since 2004, the firm has grown to include six attorneys, one paralegal and two administrative staff members, all dedicated to this area of specialization.
